FAQs

1 What does it mean to sign up for a 14 Day Free Trial?
When you are enrolled in a 14-day trial with ExploriFile you will have access to the following features:
  • one administrator profile which manages roles and permissions,
  • one connection (Dropbox, Google Drive, Amazon S3 or OneDrive),
  • 1 GB storage (per user),
  • 2 team members,
  • your data on ExploriFile storage will be stored for 14 more days after your trial period ends and you have not set up your billing information yet.
2 What does “Google like” full-text search (FTS) mean?

In a full-text search, a search engine examines all of the words in every stored document as it tries to match search criteria.

Among all of your documents ExploriFile searches for the most similar to your request. The results are shown from most relevant to least relevant, just as Google does. ExploriFile is able to search through the copy of any document, tags and metadata, author information, date of creation and other factors.

3 What is Optical Character Recognition (OCR)?
OCR (Optical Character Recognition) is a function available in ExploriFile which allows recognizing typographic text present inside any given image in a default format (e.g. JPG, TIFF, scanned PDF documents, etc.). Every time a file with the given features is loaded inside ExploriFile the character recognition is automatically performed and the text is archived inside the system (extraction needs just a couple of minutes). This operation allows users to perform text searches later even on image-type documents which otherwise would not be searchable.
4 What are the differences between an admin user and a standard user?
An admin user has total control over the content of a given instance. In particular, he or she has all permissions (reading, editing, deleting, content creation and duplicating or overwriting permissions) over the folders or documents and can create and edit users and user groups. Permissions and functions of a standard user are typically inferior to the ones of an admin user.
5 How reliable is ExploriFile?
1). ExploriFile meets all requirements of EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). 2). You can use end-to-end encryption (E2E) to protect your data. By using a password on your document or folder you can be sure that you are the only one who has access unless you share your password. 3). We have a “Disaster Recovery” service included. It means that if something happens to our server your data will be safe.
